Black Forest Cuckoo Clock

A true handcrafted German Wood Cuckoo Clock as majestic as those created by Black Forest clockmakers over 2 centuries ago.

Hear that distinctive call as the cuckoo pops out of the hollow in the carved wood, you'll be transported back to a time of great clock making. Just like the oldest known Cuckoos, our clock has been meticulously hand carved in hardwood with a rich walnut finish.

The details in the carvings and the echoing forest sound of the cuckoo bird are sure to bring joy for years to come. The Cuckoo Clock emerged during the first half of the 1700s from the Black Forest region of Germany.

Farmers forced to endure harsh winters cooped up indoors for long periods of time learned the art of clock making to fill their time.  Eventually different craftsmen came together. Some were skilled in the art of movement making, others in intricate wood carving.  But it was Franz Ketterer who emerged from his villa in 1738 with an invention that would change these Black Forest farmers' fortunes forever. It wasn't long before the Cuckoo Clock would be sought the world over.
