Garden Groom PRO Hedge Trimmer - In Stock.

The Garden Groom Pro / Max has a unique collecting system which makes the chore of hedge trimming far simpler. As you cut, none of the waste is left on the floor, thus saving you time and effort. This once laborious task, now enables you to spend more time enjoying your garden, instead of working in it! Revolutionary rotary cutting head design, not only cuts and shreds foliage, it actually Vacuums up the cut trimmings as you go, depositing them into the onboard bin or the large volume collection bag (Included).

The shredding action reduces the waste by 10:1, making disposal of the clippings far easier.  The shredded clippings are also ideal for mulch or composting.

Garden Groom Pro / Max is the world’s only collecting hedge trimmer, that has a completely concealed blade. This feature virtually eliminates the risk of cutting the mains cable and significantly reduces the danger of personal injury. Consequently, this eliminates the fear factor that many gardeners face, when using a conventional hedge trimmer.

History and Background

Several years ago, Graham Wilson a retired engineer was cutting hedges in his garden. After a long hard day he said to himself, there must be an easier and safer way to do this job!!!  So he set about trying to solve the problems that all gardeners face when they venture out to cut their hedges.

At first it started out as a hobby, but the more Graham got closer to solving the problems, the more determined he was to see the job through. In 2000, he received a number of UK government grants for safety and innovation, which helped him fund the initial stages of the project. he then approached a number of leading garden tool manufacturers, with a view to them taking on his invention. Without exception they all rejected his concept.

Graham however was determined to see his vision through. He was convinced he had a concept that would dramatically benefit gardeners around the world, that concept would change a potentially dangerous and time consuming chore, into a far more pleasant and safe gardening function.

To achieve his goal, Graham needed to raise substantial funds and in 1999, at the age of 53, he re-mortgaged his home and ploughed all of his savings into the development of his invention.  Years on and after spending a small fortune on development, manufacturing and patent costs and with many disappointments and rejections along the way, Graham has succeeded in introducing the Garden Groom Pro / Max to gardeners around the world.  He has truly solved the problems associated with hedge trimming and with the Garden Groom Pro / Max has presented a unique product that cuts, shreds and captures the majority of waste material and with its concealed blade, makes it virtually impossible to cut the main cable.

Great ideas are always worth fighting for!

Thanks Graham

Top Tips from the Manufacturer:

  1. Always inspect the area for foreign objects (i.e. metal, concrete, posts, etc.) before trimming.

  2. Please be aware that the recommended Pro / Maximum diameter of cut is:  Pro / Max - .8 inches.

  3. To trim long stalks growing parallel with the surface of the hedge, move the head down in the opposite direction to the growth.

  4. When trimming the side of the hedge, we recommend a pendulum or vertical sweeping action, ensuring the flat underside of the machine is level with the surface of the hedge.

  5. For a tighter professional finish, bury the head of the machine into the hedge to the desired depth, working the machine upwards.

  6. The Garden Groom is self-supporting and as you layer down, it will find last years growth.

  7. Regularity of cut -After using the Garden Groom and arriving at your preferred hedge length, we strongly recommend you use your Garden Groom 2/3 times per year, as regular use will ensure a better, tighter finish. The more often you use your Garden Groom, the quicker the task will become.

  8. In order to help material into the volume bag, periodically shake the hose

  9. Attaching the container - When fitting the extension tube, ensure the ridge on the edge of the exhaust hole is covered.

  10. Container and Volume Bag - it is essential that all waste is emptied out, as if left, it will decay inside the bag.

  11. On board container is easy to clean with a garden hose.

  12. Never cut at eye level.

  13. Never overbalance.

  14. Always wear eye protection.

  15. Gloves are recommended.

  16. Do not use in the rain.

  17. Never tape the switches.

  18. Never use without the container or volume bag attached.
