This trap is an electronic device that utilizes multiple attractant
technology in an attempt to offer you one possible alternative to potentially
harmful chemicals in helping to control mosquitoes.
Mosquitoes, in general, have been shown to be attracted to carbon dioxide,
heat, and moisture emissions from humans. This device utilizes these factors by
using vinegar and baking soda to create CO2 and moisture, while a heating
element in the unit creates heat to further simulate a human presence. When the
mosquitoes are drawn to the unit, a fan pulls them into a catch chamber where
they are collected and dehydrated.
This product has been approved for retail sale in every state except New Mexico.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Mosquito Free runs for an 8-hour cycle. What happens if the unit is turned
off before the cycle is complete?
A. It is reset. The next time the unit is turned on, a new 8-hour cycle will
start.
Q. Does the unit remember where it was in the cycle and continue where it left
off if the cycle is interrupted?
A. No, there is no memory and the unit simply resets.
Q. Once the unit is reset, are the chemicals still good for the balance of where
they were left off in a cycle?
A. No, you need to start with a new batch of chemicals unless you restart the
unit right away. Even though the unit is turned off, the chemicals will continue
their reaction.
Q. Is there anything that should be done in regards to maintenance on the unit?
A. After using the unit continuously for 15 days, make sure to pour 1 plastic
liquid container filled with hot water into the unit. The warm water rinses
clean any residue from the liquid chemical which is sticky. Use an empty powder
container to catch the water and run the machine for one cycle (8 hours). Make
sure all water is drained. If at any time you experience any problems with the
unit not functioning properly, especially after many days with out a rinse
cycle, then please attempt the above procedure. Most likely, the machine needs
the rinse cycle to clear the unit of any clogs.
